ABOUT
Medical imaging deep learning requires specialized preprocessing for 3D volumetric data such as MRI and CT scans, including spatial transforms, intensity normalization, and patch-based sampling that standard computer vision libraries do not support. Building these pipelines from scratch is error-prone and computationally inefficient. TorchIO provides optimized medical imaging transforms, lazy loading for large 3D volumes, and seamless PyTorch integration so researchers can focus on model development rather than data engineering for medical images.
