RAV1E
Fastest and safest AV1 video encoder
BSD-2-Clause
ABOUT
AV1 encoding is slow or unsafe in C-only stacks. rav1e is a Rust encoder from Xiph so FFmpeg and batch jobs compress AV1 with a memory-safe, high-speed alternative to libaom.
INSTALL
brew install rav1eINTEGRATION GUIDE
1. Encode AV1 from FFmpeg or the rav1e CLI for 4K archives
2. Batch-reencode a library with a memory-safe AV1 encoder
3. Compare rav1e bitrate against SVT-AV1 or libaom on the same source
4. Ship AV1 in a Rust media pipeline without C encoder bindings
