MOSQUITTO

Lightweight MQTT broker for IoT messaging and edge AI

EPL-2.0

ABOUT

Edge AI deployments and IoT systems often run on resource-constrained devices where a full-featured message broker is too heavy. These systems still need reliable publish-subscribe messaging to stream sensor data, telemetry, and inference results to a central platform. Mosquitto solves this with a MQTT broker that runs on devices with as little as 64MB RAM and full ARM/MIPS support, providing TLS encryption, authentication, persistent sessions, and bridging to larger brokers for hierarchical IoT topologies.

INTEGRATION GUIDE

1. Stream telemetry data from edge AI devices running on Raspberry Pi or ARM-based gateways to cloud platforms 2. Connect battery-powered environmental sensors with MQTT for real-time monitoring and ML-driven anomaly detection 3. Bridge local Mosquitto instances at edge sites to centralized EMQX or Kafka clusters for aggregated AI pipeline data 4. Enable reliable publish-subscribe messaging between microcontrollers and AI inference servers in smart manufacturing 5. Power lightweight pub-sub messaging for on-device AI coordination in robotics and autonomous systems
